Serving Those Serving Represents Minnesota at National Restaurant Association Trade Show in Chicago

May of 2022 was a big month for STS! Asked to speak at the NRA trade show regarding the topic of mental health and workplace wellness, five members of the board of directors traveled to Chicago to share our work in the industry.

Making contacts outside of Minnesota was the main goal, as STS’s Employee Assistance Program is available nationwide at the same level as it is locally. Knocking that goal out of the park, connections were made in California, Las Vegas, Texas, New York, Chicago and beyond. International interest also came from Chile and New Zealand, and press representatives at the conference were quite interested in the issue and the topic of EAP’s in the service industry.

Serving Those Serving’s trade show booth was one of the most eye-catching and impactful booths at the show, featuring a bright red carpet, red bar chairs and a red electric guitar for attention! Don’t forget the huge sign reading “SERVE YOUR DAMN SELF”! It’s safe to say many heads were turned and the booth was a hit.

On the last day of the trade show, Sarah Webster Norton and Adam Borgen turned heads with an impactful presentation punctuated by Luke Derheim and David Benowitz of Craft and Crew. Sarah spoke from her heart about grief and loss in the industry, Adam followed up with statistics and proof that Serving Those Serving’s EAP is working. Luke and David spoke honestly about their own experience as business owners, and what the EAP has meant to their team.
